Ratonneau Island, Marseille

Ratonneau is one of the Frioul Islands facing the old port of Marseille. As well as having a spectacular beach, it is home to a large population of seagulls. there is also an abandoned WWII fort, and an old quarantine "hospital" which is being rebuilt, overlooking the Plage de Saint Esteve. 

Very evocative, with not a soul around.
